Mario Romero, Chief Executive Officer
Mario Romero joins CEI from U.S. Ecology, where he served as its Executive Vice President of Field and Industrial Services. Previously, Mario served as Vice President of Operations of EQ – The Environmental Quality Company, which was acquired by U.S. Ecology in 2014. Mario brings more than 30 years of experience in the environmental and industrial services industries, holding executive positions at WOW Energy, Energis LLC, Safety-Kleen Corp., Philip Services Corp. and The GNI Group, Inc. Romero holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a Masters and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. Romero is a Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois, and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
Joe Brunetti, Chief Financial Officer
Prior to entering the transportation industry, Joe spent 11 years in various accounting roles, including three years in public accounting and eight years in financial services. With ten years of experience in the transportation industry, Joe was previously CFO of North American Transportation for Ozburn-Hessey Logistics. He graduated from Indiana University with degrees in finance and accounting.
Kyle Grundy has over twenty years of experience in the waste hauling and collection business. Mr. Grundy began his career at BJ Bear, a family business founded in 1975, as a driver. Mr. Grundy worked through virtually every position in the Company until he became the General Manager and principal owner. Mr. Grundy holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Guelph in Agricultural Business.
George Lockhart founded Custom Ecology’s Louisiana-based subsidiary in 1995 and has served as the company’s President since its inception. Mr. Lockhart has 28 years of experience in the waste and trucking industries. Mr. Lockhart’s career in environmental services began in 1983, when he founded POCO Environmental Services, an outsourced oilfield services company. POCO was ultimately purchased by PSC Environmental Services in 1992. Mr. Lockhart founded and built CEI utilizing his knowledge of the hazardous and industrial waste disposal associated with oilfield services.
Charles Stansley has over 32 years of experience in the transportation and waste industries. Mr. Stansley began his career at Sylvester Material Company, a family trucking business founded by great-uncle, Francis Sylvester, in 1962. Charles worked diligently to learn all aspects of the family business from the ground-up, before becoming President and owner of Stansley Industries in 2006, where he focused exclusively on building a multi-faceted waste transportation, disposal, and recycling operation in Northwest Ohio and Southeastern Michigan. In 10 years, Stansley Industries would expand and grow to become the leading waste hauler in the metro Detroit area before being purchased by CEI.
